On Thursday, 3 April, Arseniy Yatseniuk, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, attended the anniversary 30th session of the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly of Member Nations of the Commonwealth of Independent States held in Saint-Petersburg.
In his report, A.Yatseniuk underscored the utmost importance of economical issues in the activity of the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly.
The Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine also stated that "Ukraine calls for creating a free trade zone. This action is included in the concept of further development of the Commonwealth of Independent States".
The Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine also emphasized that creation of a free trade zone will not contradict accession of several countries to the World Trade Organization.
The Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine underscored the importance of food safety issues, since "food safety has considerably changed for the last years".
According to A.Yatseniuk, other important issues to be discussed by the CIS member nations include development of infrastructure projects and transport passages.
